UASC's largest ship runs aground off Port Klang

THE largest vessel in United Arab Shipping Company's (UASC) fleet, The 13,000-TEU Umm Salal, ran aground off Port Klang on Thursday, according to maritime news outlet Splash 24/7, the American Shipper reported.
 
The ship was receiving aid from local tugs. No details on environmental or vessel damage have been released.
 
According to UASC's online scheduling tool, the Umm Salal is deployed on the AGX1, and was en-route to Khor Fakkan after berthing at Port Klang. The AGX1 sails on a weekly frequency with seven vessels and a port rotation of Xingang, Dalian, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Port Klang, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Port Klang, Nansha and Xingang.
 
According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, the Umm Salal will next be deployed on THE Alliance's Far East Asia Europe-FE4 service, which has a port rotation of Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Shekou/Chiwan, Yantian and Busan.
