CMA CGM teams up with CNAN NORD to develop shipping in Alger

FRENCH shipping group CMA CGM and Algerian national shipping company CNAN NORD Spa have inked a cooperation agreement to develop shipping transportation in Algeria.
The agreement focuses on three core areas: operational cooperation for a common shipping line linking northern Europe to Algerian ports; operational and logistic cooperation between both companies, including space allocation onboard CMA CGM vessels and provision of containers; and sharing of expertise regarding the training of seafarers and executives.
CMA CGM established its presence in Algeria 20 years ago, a country now at the heart of the shipping line's activities in the Mediterranean region. It has set up ten agencies across the country in Algiers, Djen Djen, Mostaganem, Oran, Skikda, Setif, Ghazaouet, Constantine, Annaba, and Bejaia, which employ 260 staff.
CMA CGM also calls at nine Algerian ports, and offers five maritime services: Euronaf, Algeria Shuttle, Wemed, RoRo Algerie, and NAF TS.
